What to Recycle?

We coordinate the collection and recycling of all types of obligated batteries <5 kilograms in weight, including:

Rechargeable Batteries:

  • Lithium Ion
  • Nickel Cadmium
  • Nickel Metal Hydride

  • Uninterrupted power supplies (UPS)

Single-Use Batteries:

  • Alkaline

How it’s Recycled:

Our partners process recovers every component of the battery. Recycled products are sold into the local economy without additional refinement or any additives. Recyclable materials reenter the economy. Non-recyclable materials are sent to an energy from waste facility. This energy offsets 80% of the processes energy consumption. No landfills are used at any point of the process.

Elements harvested from batteries:

  • Zinc, manganese and potassium are harvested to make a micro-nutrient to grow corn

  • Steel and nickel is recovered and sold back into the local economy

  • Non-recyclable paper and plastic is sold back into the local economy
